The Johnston Green Days festival will celebrate its 13th anniversary with a weekend full of activities starting on Thursday, June 17th. Highlights include a carnival, parade, live bands, beer garden, free family movie, classic car show, and much more. Green Days is organized by the Johnston Chamber of Commerce.
Why is it called Green Days? When the event was started in 1996, it focused on Johnston’s agricultural and horticultural tradition. The Chamber worked with Johnston’s many nursery and greenhouse operations, local garden clubs and other groups, to start this tradition — and helped it grow to be one of Iowa’s leading summer festivals.
